New Patients — The Journey
At Woburn Sands Dental Practice, we appreciate that our patients go on a journey from the moment they pick up the phone to book an appointment, through to their consultation and beyond.
So for new patients, this is the journey.
We aim to make this journey as easy and comfortable as possible for all our patients. If you’re new to us, you may be wondering what to expect.
One question you should ask yourself when looking for a new Dental Practice is, “What makes them different?” We will ensure we provide you with answers to that question throughout your journey as a new patient.
We have designed our new patient journey to familiarise you with Woburn Sands while allowing our team of dental and healthcare professionals to gain an in-depth understanding of your oral health, requirements, and goals.
Choosing a dental practice is an important and personal decision, one that will have a long-term impact on the quality and outcome of your dental care. To give you peace of mind that you’ve made the right choice, it’s crucial to find a dental practice that will take the time to get to know you as a patient, as well as your medical and dental history. When you arrive, you will be handed an electronic tablet device which automatically links to your dental records. You can fill out your key details from the comfort of our waiting area, thus leaving the time scheduled for your appointment to really concentrate on you and your dental health.
Your first appointment
We understand that every patient is unique. That is why we offer more than one method of seeing us for the first time. You can be looking to register as a regular patient, you may be looking for some free advice about some treatment you may have heard about or you may know exactly what you want and wish to get right in there and see the best person for that work!
Therefore, when you first register at Woburn Sands Dental Practice, we will either arrange a new patient appointment, a free consultation, or a comprehensive assessment at a time convenient for you.
New Patient Appointment
This visit gives you the opportunity to explore our beautiful premises, meet our friendly team, and enjoy some refreshments before you meet the dentist.
Our new patient assessment takes approximately 30 minutes, including your pre-appointment introduction and tour.
By the end of your appointment, you will have a clear picture of your oral health, as well as a short and long-term treatment plan if needed.
Free consultations
We offer free consultations with our friendly team. One of our friendly patient care coordinators will greet you on arrival. They will have already asked you for your preference in beverage when you arranged the appointment, and it will be ready for you when you arrive.
Our patient care coordinators have undergone rigorous training and have vast experience and knowledge of all the treatments we provide.
You will have the opportunity to discuss the different services we offer. You will be able to ask any questions you may have during this relaxed and informal chat about your care. We will schedule your treatment for another time, so you don’t have to worry about undergoing a procedure that day.
We will provide you with a range of options and information about the costs involved. Most importantly you will know exactly what your next steps to achieving your dental goals are, whether it is replacing missing teeth, working through your dental phobia or having cosmetic treatments to create the perfect smile.
Comprehensive assessments
If you would like to know more about a specific procedure, we can book you in for a comprehensive assessment with a dentist or specialist. There is an £85 fee for this, and the appointment will take around 30 to 60 minutes.
Within this time, the dentist or specialist will carry out a thorough assessment to check your suitability for the treatment you are interested in. This could be for dental implants, sedation, Invisalign®, a smile makeover, facial aesthetics or another treatment.
We encourage you to ask our staff questions about your treatment plan, financing or any other concerns you may have.
